DEATH PENALTY

Death penalty is a debatible issue for almost every country. In some of them, it is illegal; in some of them it is not. Everybody has a lot of opinions about that but which one is really true? Of course, the people who are guilty should be punished but is this punishment should be death penalty? No matter what the guilt is, no one has right to kill another one. Even the murderers shouldn't be sentenced to that.

Firstly; everybody has right to live and ıf we kill someone ,no matter what the reason is, we will be guilty, also. "If a community wants to stop killing . . .," says former U.S. Senator Harold Hughes, "it had best begin by [stopping] killing on its own part. Respect for life is best taught by the observance of life."And when we think in a reasonable way, what can be our aim by killing someone? If we want to reduce the chance that he or she will commit crime in the future, we will accomplish our aim, of course. But there are another ways to do that. For example life in prison without the parole. Before the capital punishment, we should think about another ways which accomplish the same goals.

When we move to the general effects of the death penalty, we will see that ıt doesn't have a general deterrent effect. *According to the deterrence theorists, a punishment must be swift, certain and severe.* Of course, the capital punishment is severe, but it doesn't have the other features. So we come across the the opinion that capital punishment doesn't have a educational effect, also.

When we think about capital punishment in both general and specific way, we see that there is no good effects of death penalty. It has no deterrent effect and while a punishment should reduce the crime rate, it doesn't do that. And even he/she is murderer, we firstly should take into consideration that everybody has right to live and if we kill someone, we will be one of them.

As a conclusion, no matter who he/she is and no matter what he/she does we have no rights kill someone. in addition to this, when we think about death penalty, there no reason to do that,also.

SECOND LİFE

We can not deny the importance of technology in our life and of course ,it's product, computer. By the help of computer we started to learn a lot of different things. One example to these is playing computer games,such as second life. Second life is one of the most popular computer games. But why people play this game? The reason for playing this game changes according to each person.To meet people and get friend, to have fun and education are the most popular reasons.
When you are playing second life, you can meet a lot of people whom ,maybe,you have no chance to know. When you are in second life, you come across people from different places and you can learn these people's cultures, meals, etc. During this conversations, your relationship gets improve and you get friends. In second life, you can deal with what you want to do but you can not do in real life with these friends.
Second life have a lot of opportunities,like our real life. So you can do what you want there. You can go whenever you want, you can do any sport. You decide your appearences,your weight, your hair,your clothes. You can have any character which is not related to yours.
As the last reason, education is have a big effect on second life. Teachers and students come together here. There, they feel as if they are in their classroom. No matter what time it is they talk to each other. They can share their problems there. They don't have to wait class hours.
As a conclusion, everybody using SL have some reasons to play this game. Education, having fun and getting firends are some of them. And no matter what the reasons are second life became very popular computer game.

TECHNOLOGY

What are the most important things in our lives? When answering to this question, everyone considers the computer one of the most important things. Because technology is such a important thing that a life without it is impossible for us. But when we come to education, we have two choices; one is computer and the other one is pen. Each of them has advantages and disadvantages when we compare them with each other.
We should take into account the importance of pen and paper if we think about our education. Because about 13 years, we do our homeworks, take seat in the exams just using our pens and papers. Infact, in this process, our pens have become our habits and giving them up is impossible. If we write something about an issue, we use firstly our pens. But using this method takes a lot of time. And when listening the lesson, taking notes with pen is really hard and sometimes this situation can be big problem for us. We can get bored easily and give it up after a while.
As for the technology, we have to consider how useful it is and how much helps us. Firsly, using computer is more useful way if we think about time. Secondly, the lessons in labs are more interesting and entertaining. Finally, doing homework is more easy via internet. We can read our friend's essays and we can add our homework no matter what time is. However using internet has some disadvantages,too. For example, we can be not good at using computer and getting used to it can take a lot of time. Another example for this; each student doesn't have to have computer and this can be really problem for his/her.
To conclude; when we compare and contrast computer and pen computer is more advantageous. We can get used computer and after this everything can be more easy and interesting. The most important advantage is, of course, not to fall in sleep in the lessons=)

FIRST IMPRESSION

As human beings, we are social creatures and we live in a social enviroment. In this enviroment, we get some opinions about the other people by the help of our experience. Because experiences give clues about people's character. But besides experiences, some people get opinions about the others by using their first impressions and most of the time no matter what they experience, nothing can change these opinions. The most important thing is using these two things in the right way.
If I take into consideration that I am one of the people who trust their first impressions, I can easily say that first impressions give really important clues about the characters. Firstly, I pay attention to people's appearance. For example; the hands. I have always thought that people's hands are closely related to their character. Second feature to give importance is people's posture and tone of voice. These are really important because these show people's self-confidence and we can understand whether they are telling lie or not. And third, the most important one is eyes. Actually, eyes shows everything about the character. We can easily understand people's feelings, emotions and ideas by the help of their eyes.
I have to say that sometimes first impressions make us think in the wrong way. Of course, we can't deny the importance of the first impressions but they can mislead us. When making judgement about somebody's personality, we need time. Some people can't use their eyes or voice to express their ideas and emotions. So; in this situation, time plays a great role. We need to spend time with these people with a view to get information about their personality. This means that we should give chance to people to express themselves.
As a conclusion, first impressions are important and we should take into consideration them ıf we want to get information about the others. But no matter how much we trust our first impressions, we have to bear in mind that everybody engraves time to express their character.
